Smooth teeth and no 'edges' whatsoever to damage hair like other shower combs on the market. Satin Finish plastic feels nice in the hand as well as better grip in shower. I own several of these shower combs because I prefer them for my wavy-to-curly hair. I find regular hair picks have teeth too close together for good results. You can comb your (dry) wavy curls with this shower comb just as you would a regular hair pick. Or, comb lightly in irregular sections (without going all the way through) to keep your curls tighter. I've found great results by doing that and still end up with shiny looking curls. Since using this shower comb doesn't pull out my curls, I own several of them and place the combs in my shower, my car console for on-the-go, etc. And sometimes I bring one in a larger handbag when I leave the house with wet hair and want to gently comb without losing my wavy curls. Of course, I keep one of these combs in the bathroom cupboard (besides one in shower) to use on my dry hair.
